Brian Tracy, FocalPoint Business Coaching and Clarity

“The purpose of a business is to create and keep a customer; all profits come from that. Customer satisfaction is the only measure of business success in the long term.”

-Brian Tracy

Customer satisfaction – that’s what it’s all about.

Clarity.

Brian Tracy methodology is all about clarity – and that’s what FocalPoint Business Coaching professionals do, we make things clear, because we are all Brian Tracy certified Business Coaches.

Let me clarify that for you.

If you hire a FocalPoint Business Coach – the first thing you will both do is establish why you have hired them – where you need coaching: Clarify coaching goals and objectives.

Depending on whether you had a clear idea of where you needed help or not, your business coach may work you through an analysis of your business – either before you set the coaching goals or after.

Your coach will to want to see your metrics, they will want to see the systems you use, and they’re going to want to understand your organizational structure. Gathering and analysing this information (or lack of information) will clarify where you stand, what you have to work with, and where you need to put some effort.

Once goals are set and objectives are in place it’s time to get to work.

Your Brian Tracy Certified Business Coach is going to ask you some hard questions – when I say hard questions, I mean ones that can have hard-to-admit-to answers. Usually we find people know the answers, or can see the answers, they just don’t want to admit it or recognize them.

The Brian Tracy tools that we work with are often a series of straight-to-the-point questions with obvious answers.

An example of questions a coach might present are: “Who is your competition?” “Why are they better than you?” “What are you going to do about it?”

In many instances, the client doesn’t really know the answers to the first two questions, not because the information is hard to find, but because they simply haven’t sat down and thought about it.

The magic of it is that, by answering the first question, “Who is your competition?” the answer to the second question, “Why are they better than you?” becomes clear, and the answer to the third question, “What are you going to do about it?” becomes downright obvious.

That’s how clarity works in the Brian Tracy methodology. We help our clients find clarity by sorting through the muck, by asking business owners to look at what is in front of them and to be clear about what they are going to do.

Another way FocalPoint Business Coaches use clarity is when we are looking a systems. If you have a system in place that just doesn’t seem to be performing, the first thing your coach will ask you to do is write down every single step in the system.

That will kind of force you to decide (clarify?) what is, and what is not, part of the system. Then the coach will throw some questions at you – but you’ll probably already know the answers at that point.

The questions would be something like: “What works?” “What doesn’t work?” “How are you going to fix it?”

Again, the answers to the first question and the second question make the answer to the third question pretty clear. Clarity wins again.

So why hire a Business Coach if it’s that easy?
